_September 2022 _ Apple released the 14th generation of its smartphones and thus also the 5G-capable iPhone 14 Pro Max. Thanks to iOS 16, it is still possible for this generation to read NFC products and tags. In its own product tests, NFC21 found that the readout distance of the smartphones improved noticeably compared to their predecessors.
The NFC smartphone is available in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB storage options. A hexa-core processor (16 Bionic chip), a penta-core graphics processor and a 6 GB working memory are installed in the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The dimensions of the phone are also 160.7 mm high, 77.6 mm wide and 7.85 mm deep, with a total weight of 240 grams. Thus, it is about 14 mm taller and 6 mm wider than the regular iPhone 14. The size of the smartphone also creates more space for the installed battery, and thus has the best battery performance of the 14 series. Apple promises a battery life of 29 hours during video playback.
The new "Dynamic Island" feature introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series also allows users to interact with notifications and ongoing activities faster and more actively. Furthermore, the Pro series has an always-on display feature as well as a 120 Hz refresh rate, which also benefits the 6.7'' OLED display of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The rear camera of the Pro series works with three lenses and a telephoto lens that can achieve a twofold magnification. While the resolution of the front camera is 12 megapixels, the rear camera has a resolution of 48 megapixels.
Differences compared to the predecessor 13 series.
A new 5G modem is used in the iPhone 14 Pro. Furthermore, the Photonic Engine developed by Apple promises better pictures in poor lighting conditions. In addition, a newly introduced autofocus as well as a new aperture improves the front camera. A newly installed accident detection can detect serious car accidents and automatically send emergency calls.
