September 2022 Apple released the 14th generation of its smartphones and thus also the 5G-capable iPhone 14 Plus. Due to the 16th version of the iOS operating system, it is still possible for the 14 series to scan various NFC tags and products. NFC21 also noted greater readout distance of NFC chips in product tests for the smartphones.
The NFC smartphone is offered in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage options. For the screen, the iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7'' OLED display (17 cm optical diagonal) with a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels at 458 ppi. This means a difference of 1.5 cm compared to the regular iPhone 14 with a 6.1'' display. Thus, the dimensions of the smartphone are 160.8 mm in height, 78.1 mm in width and 7.8 mm in depth. The total weight is also 203 grams.
The usual dual-camera system is still retained for the rear camera. The resolution of the rear camera and front camera is 12 megapixels for both. With a hexa-core processor (A15 Bionic chip), a penta-core graphics processor and a 6 GB RAM working memory, the Plus variant is similar to the standard model.
The extended battery life is significant for the iPhone 14 Plus in contrast to the iPhone 14. The Plus variant offers more space for the installed battery, which also increases the usage time. Apple promises a battery life of 26 hours during video playback. This is 6 hours longer than the regular iPhone 14. Overall, the iPhone 14 Plus stands out as a favorable variant to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and is suitable for users:indoors who are interested in larger displays.
Differences compared to the previous 13 series.
A new 5G modem is used in the iPhone 14 Pro. Furthermore, the Photonic Engine developed by Apple promises better pictures in lower light conditions. In addition, a newly introduced autofocus as well as a new aperture improves the front camera. A newly installed accident detection can detect serious car accidents and automatically send emergency calls.
