Samsung Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
In January 2024, Samsung released a new generation of NFC-enabled smartphones - including the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The smartphone is still equipped with a 5G modem.
In terms of colour, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra shines in the titanium shades of grey, yellow, black and purple, while other colours such as blue, green and orange are also available online. The storage variants range from 256 GB to 1 TB. With a 6.8'' main display and a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels (Quad HD+) at 505 ppi, the S24 Ultra offers a detailed display. The smartphone also measures 162.3 mm x 79 mm x 8.6 mm and weighs 232 g.
There have only been a few improvements on the hardware side: A powerful octa-core processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, is installed in the S24 Ultra. The S23 Ultra, on the other hand, is equipped with the previous Gen 2. The Gen 3 is clocked between 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz. As usual, the smartphone has 8 GB RAM. At 5000 mAH, the battery capacity remains the same as the previous series. However, there are changes to the 92% larger vapour chamber, which is used for effective CPU and GPU cooling. It should ensure smoother gaming.
Also new are the Galaxy AI functions, which are designed to support the user in various actions. These include: Converting voice recordings into text, modern searches, voice translations during calls and easier photo editing.
However, the camera performance has not changed compared to the previous series: four cameras are still used for the rear camera, including a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP persicop telephoto camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10 MP telephoto lens. A fivex optical zoom is possible with the main camera. The selfie camera has 12 MP.
Differences to the predecessor series (S23 Ultra):
- Galaxy AI functions (e.g. for editing images)
- New colours
- Large vapour chamber for cooling the CPU and GPU
- Larger display
- Longer battery life
