Do I need to activate NFC for the AirTag?

NFC is not activated by default on all devices. Do I have to activate it separately on my Airtag?

If you have an iPhone, then no. NFC is activated there by default. If you want to call up the loss website for information about the serial number and the owner with an Android smartphone, you should have activated NFC beforehand.

Android smartphones have the option of manually deactivating and activating NFC. You should therefore check beforehand whether the NFC function is activated. iPhones have this activated by default.
