Product description
NFC product
The NFC Starter Kit contains 7 NFC tags made of ABS material in the colors blue, grey, green, orange, red, black and white as well as an ACR1252U NFC reader. The NFC tags have an integrated NXP NTAG213 chip and are both waterproof (IP67) and robust. Thanks to the included key rings, they can be easily attached to your key ring. With our detailed instructions for Windows login via NFC uand the appropriate software, setup is simple and straightforward. After successful setup, up to 7 different users can authenticate themselves in a simple and secure way, supported by the different colors of the tags. If required, additional users can easily be added with more NFC tags.
NFC chip
The NFC Starter Kit Windows Login contains NFC keyfobs, which are equipped with the original NXP NTAG213. These offer a cost-effective introduction to the NTAG21x series. The NXP NTAG21x series impresses with the greatest possible compatibility, good performance and intelligent additional functions. The NTAG213 has a total capacity of 180 bytes (free memory 144 bytes), of which 137 bytes are usable memory in the NDEF. Each individual chip has a unique serial number (UID) consisting of 7 bytes (alphanumeric, 14 characters). The NFC chip can be written to up to 100,000 times and has a data retention period of 10 years. The NTAG213 has the UID ASCII mirror feature, with which the UID of the tag can be appended to the NDEF message, as well as an integrated NFC counter, which is automatically incremented during readout. Both functions are not activated by default. The NTAG213 is compatible with all NFC-enabled smartphones, the NFC21 tools and all ISO14443 end devices.

NFC tags with NTAG chipset are compatible with all NFC-enabled smartphones. The NFC chips are delivered without content (empty). The use of NFC tags with a chipset of the NXP NTAG series is simple, but depends on the operating system used. The following links aim to give a quick start into that topic.
Android
Android smartphones with NFC require additional apps to write to NFC tags. We have compiled typical use cases in our NFC for Android How2 collection.
iOS
NFC tags can be used in iOS with the integrated app "Shortcuts". For other use cases, we recommend an additional app, for example our free iOS app NFC21 Tools. In our NFC for iOS How2 collection, we have included several use cases for writing NFC tags with iOS devices.
Windows
In order to be able to use NFC tags under Windows, both suitable hardware (NFC USB reader/writer) and suitable software are required. In our How2 collection we show how to use the NFC tags with the appropriate NFC hardware and software (e.g. our free software NFC21-Tools).
With the free software from NFC21 the above hardware is directly usable and allows writing and reading of NFC tags under Windows.
