Product description
NFC product
The NFC Micro Tags have a format of 5 x 5 mm and a material thickness of 0.85 mm. The perforated roll in which the tags are supplied enables seamless integration into automated transport systems. The NFC cassettes on the roll have a hole that makes it easy to apply the tags to components or workpieces of all kinds. The FR4 material in which the ICODE SLIX is embedded is a versatile composite material. It is characterised by its tracking resistance, mechanical stability, bending strength and heat resistance up to 100°C.
NFC chip
The NFC Micro Tag is equipped with the original ICODE SLIX (SL2S2002). NXP has designed the ICODE SLIX series for use as an intelligent label and optimised it accordingly for small designs and smaller data volumes. Other functions of the ICODE SLIX include the option of write-protecting the content. The chip also supports the function of electronic article surveillance with password protection (EAS). In combination with the increased range, this makes it possible, for example, to monitor items and their authorised removal at a gateway (use for loan books and media). Thanks to the Application Family Identifier (AFI) function, the chip is able to inform the reader of the intended use.
The ICODE SLIX has a total capacity of 128 bytes, of which 106 bytes are usable memory in the NDEF. The ICODE SLIX has a unique 8-byte serial number (UID). The NFC chip can be written to up to 100,000 times. The ICODE SLIX is characterised on the one hand by a long data life of 50 years (data retention) and on the other hand by a higher range compared to the NXP NTAG series. In practical terms, this means that smartphones can read the ICODE SLIX from distances of up to 1-5cm (compared to the NTAG, which is practically 1-3cm). With appropriate readers (not smartphones), distances of up to 1.5 metres are also possible.
- Total capacity: 128 bytes
- Free memory: 112 bytes
- Usable memory NDEF: 106 bytes
